It’s 11:30 PM right now and I just finished packing for this weekend’s backcountry ski trip to Phelix Creek near D’arcy. I need to go to bed soon since I gotta wake up at 5 AM tomorrow morning. Anyway here are some Gtalk conversation and why Mountain Equipment Co-op (MEC, an equivalent of US’s REI) is a very dangerous place for us outdoorsy people.
Evan: i spent $200 at MEC last night ![]()
Me: what did you buy this time? ![]()
Evan: new skins, biking glasses, other random stuff
Me: u seem to buy a lot of random stuff from MEC
Colin: ahhhh just bought two new sets of gloves and mitts!
me: lol u bought more stuff? Didn’t you just bought bunch gear yesterday?
Colin: Yep, carbon fibre poles, ice screw, racking device, more slings.
Colin: I’m a whore
me: I see you’re getting ready for the ice climbing trip
Colin: yup
me: sweet, just another activity to spend money in ![]()
Colin: yeah, well its better than hookers and blow for my health

Sounds like me with my bike equipment. lol…yup and going online and looking at the stuff also?
not been to MEC for ages – must get there soon
Thanks for visiting
