I’m not sure if I mentioned this previously or not, anyway I’m a big yogurt eater. Since I ran out of yogurt yesterday I decided to swing by Safeway on the way back from work. You wouldn’t believe what happened while I was there…
Believe it or not, I ran into one of the Sedin twins from the Vancouver Canucks. He was out shopping with his daughter buying bunch Activia yogurts (they were on sale). At first my mind didn’t quite click. I was like “hey this guy is quite tall, is ripped and he looks like one of the Sedins!” While both of us were picking up yogurt from the fridge shelf he began talking with his daughter in some language other than English (I assume that’s be Swedish). I looked at him and blinked, he looked at me and said hi. I didn’t know what to say. I was totally star struck.
Once home I looked up on Wikipedia, according to Wikipedia, Henrik has a son while Daniel has a daughter and a son. I guess the Sedin I was was Daniel. Interestingly enough, I happen to share the same birthday as the Sedin twins – September 26.
I’m rather surprised to see Daniel Sedin shopping at a Safeway and picking up an item that was on sale. Well I guess even millionaires cares to safe money!
With my previous encounter that makes my Canucks sighting to 5.

I haven’t run into too many famous people myself, but when I do, I can’t really think of much else to say but “hi” b/c I also don’t want to disturb them. My one exception is asking Liv Tyler for directions in NYC. It was dark when I said “excuse me!” so I didn’t know who she was until she got closer. I could tell she was pretty apprehensive to walk over to me (she was walking her dog) but then when I just asked her for directions (instead of being a fan), I could see this sigh of relief on her face.
Even celebrities must feel the pinch at times!

I would have thought a hockey player would be there for the beer, not the yogurt.
Here up in Canada grocery stores don’t sell beer.
Hockey players probably go through a lot of yogurt!
