“Damn you have a lot of shoes.”
That’s from a friend of mine the other day. Looking at my apartment entrance I can count 8 pair of shoes.
“Damn that’s a lot of shoes, are you sure you don’t have some sort of shoe fetish?”
Yes that’s perhaps way too many for someone like me but it’s not without a reason.
The 8 pairs break down like so…
1 pair of runners
1 pair of basketball shoes
1 pair of 1970 sneakers
1 pair of formal dress shoes
1 pair of casual dress shoes
1 pair of winter boots
1 pair of light trail hiking boots
1 pair of mountaineering boots
That’s not counting the pair of Crocs and a pair of sandals that are also sitting at the entrance. Oh and a pair of climbing shoes, a pair of down booties, and a pair of skiing boots sitting in my room.
Maybe I have a problem?

Dude no way. You don’t have a problem..
I have more than that many pairs of Climbing shoes. (though I admit I DO have a climbing shoe problem)
Its ok to have lots of shoes as a guy, though it is ideal to have a smaller number of shoes than your significant other in my mind.
That’s the fewest shoes I have ever heard of someone having.
I mean, I have at least 30…And I don’t have a shoe fetish. I know people who put me to shame.
Those people, have a shoe fetish.
Um, no. I have way more. But, Ted probably has a similar amount — at least among the ones that I see him wear regularly. He has a few tucked in the closet that i’ve never even seen him wear.
Wow, if you have a problem, then what have I got? Just a quick head invetory…
1 pair motorcycle boots
2 pair flip-flops
4 pair running shoes (to be fair, two are used to work in the yard, water sports, etc.)
2 pair dress shoes (1 for Tux)
2 pair slip-ons? (Or whatever they’re called)
1 pair hiking boots
I think that’s about it. I wouldn’t consider that a fetish. But the wife… wow. I couldn’t begin to count them all.
For comparison here’s my count:
2 pairs of running shoes
1 pair old running/painting shoes
2 pairs fancy dress shoes (just threw one pair out too!)
1 pair casual dress shoes
1 pair steel toes
2 pairs of climbing shoes
2 pairs of hiking boots
1 mountaineering boots
1 pair downhill ski boots
1 pair tele boots
1 pair AT boots
1 pair down booties
3 or so pairs of sandals/flip flops
3 pairs cycling shoes
TOTAL = 22….good thing I have a lot of closets.
Evan sir you have a serious problem. Better stop buying shoes that are 2 sizes too big. :p
That’s pretty good for a guy!
It’s definitely the sport-related shoe equipment that can add up eh
Snowboard boots… surf booties… etc… haha!
