Yes you read the title right, there’s a traverse here in BC called the Alcoholic Traverse. Basically you hike along a few mountains that are named after alcohols. The traverse is typically a 3 day trip, but because we were doing it on a weekend Christian, the trip organizer, decided to do a semi-alcoholic traverse by exiting from Cypress Peak.
Somehow 31 ppl signed up for the trip. Now that’s a big party! It was quite a surprise that no real epic happened with this many of people on the trip. The traverse is around 30 km with roughly 1500 m elevation gain on both days. Since we were hiking up and down along the ridge most of the time it’s somewhat hard to determine the actual elevation loss.
The views were great so I’ll let the pics do all the talking…

After hiking for about 2 hours we reached Brandywine Meadow. Brandywine is the peak in the middle of the pic.

Looking back you could see Black Tusk sticking out. I was sitting at top of it the weekend before!

We had to hike up some steep snowy slope. Had to teach some of the beginners how to kick-step.

Me at the Brandywine summit. I could stand there all day and enjoy the view.

Sat night we camped just below Mt. Fee. It’s one impressive looking mountain (only climbable in the winter)

This was the view I had when I was taking a dump… tough life eh?

Throughout the trip we had to traverse along mountain ridges

Me & Greta at summit of Cypress Peak. This was the 2nd time both of us were up there…
A fun trip with great memory. Maybe I’ll do the traverse in the winter one day? We’ll see about that!
Once again it’s Weekly Words Challenge time again. The “words” for this week were Blue and Happy. Like last week I’ll use pics from the weekend trip…
The “words” for next week are:
O (As in “Oh” the letter and not zero)
and
South
I realize this post is quite picture heavy but just want to share couple pics I took at my photography course the other week….
I hope my photo skills are improving! What do you think?

Why is Mt. Fee only available during the winter? Closed during the “off season” for erosion control?
Your photo skills don’t NEED any improving. But yes, I think those shots are very nice. I like the second one better than the first. But it’s not because of you, more the models. Their eyes look a little dead/emotionless.
I LOVE your “blue” photo. You take some amazing shots. And I loved this line: “This was the view I had when I was taking a dump…” LMAO.
Mt. Fee is sort of climbable in the summer but it’s super sketchy since the mountain itself is falling over by itself.
31 people, that’s crazy but sounds kinda fun.
Looks like Mt. Fee is giving you the finger
Those are very scenic shots… and great shots all around!
Beautiful hiking photos. I despise hiking for the most part, but you really make me want to go hiking
I still think you should have done it while inebriated, just for the “semi alcoholicness” of it all
Heh!
Wow that’s a great photo of the girl. I’m loving the way you captured the expression in her eyes, and the contrast of the green foliage in the background. Bravo!
You do have an exciting life – that is one breathtaking view from the climb, and the peak. Great photos.
Jean.
Wow. It is gorgeous where you are! I live on top of a mountain and I thought it was pretty in my neck of the woods; not even close ~ yet in a different way it’s beautiful.
You are a wonderful Photographer.
Hi from Tanya’s site!
Truely stunning!
You have great photography skills
They’re definitely improving — I think you could easily sell a lot of these to some stock photo sites. I like the dump shot the best, just not thinking of the accompanying visual
